We ordered a crib today! It will be delivered in two to four weeks AND the guys who deliver it will also put it together! How cool is that?? So that means we have two to four weeks to empty out the nursery room and make a space for a crib. We’ve started the process already. Yesterday we purged more books, put some videotapes and books into a bin for storage in the attic, and moved all of our CDs and music that was littering the nursery onto one bookshelf in the guest bedroom. Plus we ordered a seven foot tall bookshelf that will replace the little one and give us even more storage — a necessity in this house that has very little closet place to begin with! Rob commented that we are very good at purging. It feels so good to get rid of stuff that you haven’t looked at or thought of in a year. We’ve decided to try to do it every year, so someone doesn’t come into the house and scream in horror at the crap that has accumulated. You know, like you see on those shows on TLC where professional organizers come in and clean up a house.
Anyway, it’s called the Serenity crib by Stanley YoungAmerica. The crib is certified by JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association), which is the gold standard for safety in baby stuff, and the finish has no lead or formaldehyde in it, so the baby doesn’t grow an extra arm if it decides to teethe on the railing. Here’s a picture of the new crib:
