(Is it only week 17? The bad thing about finding out you’re pregnant so early is that it feels like you’ve been pregnant for a lifetime by week 17.)
Today Baby is about five inches long and weighs about five ounces. How very symmetrical! Five ounces is supposed to be like the weight of a turnip. Hmm. I should have picked up a turnip at the grocery store today. 🙂 I have gained a grand total of 2.5 pounds so far, which is right about where I should be, I think. My neighbor asked me last night if I could still see my feet. (This is the same neighbor that talks to my boobs, because “they’re getting really big, Kristin.” Oh really? I couldn’t tell. They’re always huge.) Yes, I can see my feet, though I don’t know if it’s Second Baby Syndrome, or just that I’m carrying a girl, but I feel like my belly has shot up and out more quickly. I guess it’s probably a combination of both.
Baby Turnip is moving all over. I was singing yesterday and could feel her jumping and wiggling all over. That is the thing I will miss most about not being pregnant. I love feeling the little dancer in there.
So, cheers to week 17! May the next twenty-three weeks fly by! 🙂
