Well, here it is: the halfway point. I could not be more thrilled! Not only am I looking forward to not being pregnant, I can’t wait to meet this little bugger. Our neighbors just had their second baby and I look at them and think, “Oh my goodness, that’s going to be us in five short months — with two kids!” It’s weird to think about.
This week Baby Girl is approximately 10.5 ounces and 10.5 inches long — like a banana! At 20 weeks, she has graduated to being measured from head to toe, instead of from head to rump. What a big girl! She’s swallowing and making meconium (fetal poop), too. Oh, digestive system, we will know your bounty well. Ha ha!
Last night, the little bean was really active. She was moving all over the place for hours. Let’s hope that she’s not a night owl like her big brother. If she is, she really can’t help it, because I’m still a night owl. I much prefer to stay up late and sleep in. (You know, by the time I’m able to keep that schedule again, I’ll probably be old enough that I’ll start waking early on my own. Sad.) 🙂 I like to feel her move around, because (a) this is my last opportunity to feel those movements and (b) I don’t have to go into worry mode that I’m not feeling enough movement. And yes, I’m well aware of my neurotic tendencies. 🙂
So, Happy Halfway Point to me! Maybe I’ll bake a cake…
