A Healthy Obsession? I Can’t Decide. October 6, 2010

I can’t believe how many cute baby patterns are out there in the knitting world. I wish I had a secret stash of money hidden in a slit in my mattress that would fund my lust for beautiful yarn. And, next to that stash, I wish I had a magic wand that would provide me with endless time to craft said yarn into beautiful things. I love knitting. Love it! And yet, I take pride in the fact that I don’t buy yarn just to buy it. I always have a plan. No yarn that enters this house is purposeless. (I have leftovers that I don’t know what to do with, but that’s a different issue entirely.) Right now, I have a small queue of knitting projects:

Sophie’s Christmas stocking — almost done
Baby hat for Caitlin’s baby — just needs a pom pom
Baby hat for Paige’s baby — on deck
Baby bunting for my baby — next in line

I wish I could walk and breathe and clean the kitchen and [insert chore here] and knit all at the same time. Wouldn’t that be cool? Or is it just me?

I have an idea as to what you could do with your extra yarn. You may or may not have a brother who could find a use for it in tying flies. Just a thought. Another idea, is that you could drop knitting altogether and learn to tie flies. That way, I would have double the amount with half the effort. Another creative outlet…

Drew! That’s a great idea. I will definitely give you my extra yarn and definitely not start tying flies. πŸ™‚ It’s got too many danger tools. Maybe in five years or so… πŸ™‚
