I had another doctor’s appointment today. I know, I know, it seems like I just had one. Believe me, I feel it too. We finished the anatomical survey today. Baby is just fine! She has all her parts, the right number of heart chambers, her organs are inside her abdominal cavity, her spine is closed, and she has a regular old upper lip with no cleft palate. Yeah for regular lips!
My blood pressure was beautiful — 120/70. How awesome is that? I know it’s early for problems to arise, but every pretty blood pressure gets me one step closer to February. It would be so nice to have a normal, mostly boring pregnancy this time. I’ll take whatever comes, as long as there’s a healthy baby at the end, but gosh, it would be nice to be normal this time. I like normal.
The best part of the appointment was that Sam said the word sphygmomanometer. We talk about sphygmomanometers every time we’re at a doctor’s office. He loves checking blood pressures and playing with medical equipment. Today he decided to try the word. It was adorable — and sounded close to the real word, too! “Siggomanometer.” Good job, Sam.
